The leadership of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has reaffirmed its commitment to closing the nation’s digital skills gap following an extensive inspection tour of the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) in Oshodi, Lagos, reports ITREALMS.
The visit was aimed at assessing the institute's readiness to drive the Federal Government’s agenda for digital literacy and technical empowerment.
During the tour, the board members inspected the laboratory facilities and training infrastructure at the Oshodi campus.
The visit served as a strategic touchpoint for the Commission to evaluate how the DBI, the training arm of the NCC; is evolving to meet the demands of emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence, 5G, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Chief Idris Olorunnimbe emphasized that the DBI remains a critical asset in the Commission’s "strategic roadmap," noting that the facility must stay at the cutting edge of technical vocational training to ensure Nigerian youths remain competitive in the global digital economy.
