Afinni Job Ready Programme: Participants gear up for 2nd phase of employability training - ITREALMS

The Afinni Job Ready Programme, a one-month employability and soft skills training initiative for fresh graduates, graduates, and job seekers in Lagos Island II, has entered its second phase, reports ITREALMS.
Participants, ITREALMS gathered, are now focusing on cleaning up their social media profiles, re-strategizing their personal branding, and preparing for mock interviews to enhance their chances of success in the upcoming job fair.

The Lagos State Lawmaker representing Lagos Island II, Hon. Suleiman 'Lanre Afinni, urged participants to remain focused and resilient throughout the training, emphasizing that the various stages are designed to equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to secure rewarding job opportunities from potential employers.

LSETF Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Feyisayo Alayande commended the participants for their tenacity and encouraged them to maximize the training opportunity, network among themselves, and explore the chance of the job fair. "Practice what you've learned, don't underestimate yourself, and explore the opportunities available," Alayande advised.

While the Employability Project Officer at LSETF, Ajibola Babalola, highlighted that the second phase of the program is specifically designed to prepare participants for mock interviews, update their CVs, and build a strong online presence.

"Creating a personal brand and optimizing social media profiles is crucial in today's digital world," Babalola emphasized.

The Chairman of the Afinni Education Committee, Ahmed Olaofe, commended Hon. Afinni for initiating the program to address unemployment challenges in the community. Olaofe charged participants to put in more effort to meet the expectations of potential employers, reminding them that every employer aspires to hire the best talent.

The Vice Chairman of the Afinni Employability Committee, Layeni Aliu, affirmed that the program is aimed at bridging the employment gap in the community by bringing the private sector on board. "This program will help develop the skills of our youths and contribute to the economic development of our society," Aliu said.

ITREALMS recalls that the third and final phase of the program, which includes a job fair, is scheduled to take place on July 30.
