Breaking: Routine malaria vaccinations kicks off in Africa - ITREALMS

Consequent upon a successful pilot programme, the world’s first World Health Organisation (WHO)-recommended malaria vaccines, a routine exercise would hold on Monday, January 22 commence across Africa, reports ITREALMS.

The current exercise, ITREALMS gathered would begin with Cameroon on Monday, 22 January 2024.

This press briefing will provide information on this historic milestone, including updates on the scale of the roll out in 2024, plans to introduce a second approved vaccine later this year and how countries are preparing for widespread immunisation.

Speakers from Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, Africa CDC, the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and Value Health Africa will be in attendance.
