The Association of Anambra State Development Unions (AASDU) in Lagos, has berated the three Senators representing the state at the National Assembly (NASS) over their inexplicable absence at the crucial voting on the Electoral Act Amendment Bill and Petroleum Industry Bill on Thursday, reports
ITREALMS.

Anambra State, ITREALMS gathered, is represented by the trio of Senators Stella Oduah - Anambra North, Uche Ekwunife - Anambra Central and Ifeanyi Ubah - Anambra South at NASS.
Expressing displeasure over their absence, AASDU president in Lagos, Sir Amechi Ebeledike, told
ITREALMS on Friday that they were appalled at the outcome of the deliberations on the Electoral Act bill specifically as passed by the Senate.

“The outcome would pass for anything other than honourable by our distinguished senators especially the three of you representing Anambra State,” he decried.

Ebeledike in an open letter addressed to the trio, also expressed disapproval over their abstinence when it mattered most, wondering if it was a coincidence that the three of them had to go to the restroom at the same time considered to be a defining moment.

“It is with consternation and great disappointment that we view your abstinence from voting when it mattered most,” he asserted.

AASDU President also said there were questions begging to be answered by the Anambra Senators, which included "If their absence was in an effort to please some masters other than the concerned people who elected them.

“Was it part of that conspiracy theory that some of you are under the radar of EFCC and could be sought after if you go against the desires of the powers that be? Was it lack of firmness of purpose or lack of balls? Or was it that you had proceeded with your vacation ahead of other distinguished members? Many more questions begging for urgent answers from you!” he wondered.

AASDU Lagos, Ebeledike said, therefore, joined the millions of Anambrarians worldwide to condemn their absence which the group described as "cowardly action" at that material time of important decision making.

“No doubt you failed to live up to our expectations by running away from that important legislative responsibility,” he said, stressing that certainly history will not be kind to the trio as you failed to give support to the collective desire to improve the integrity of electoral process and achieve a more credible election results in future.

“Our youths and future leaders are even more disappointed as you were caught shirking in your responsibilities when the expectations were at its highest,” AASDU president lamented.

He advised the trio not to miss in action nor be a castaway at this challenging time when the men should be separated from the boys.
