February 9 extension: ALTON commends PMB, Pantami, NCC on NIN linkage, urges subscribers to take advantage - ITREALMS

ITREALMS ... making leadership SENSE with digital news!

The Association of Licensed Telecommunication Operators of Nigeria (ALTON) has commended the President Muhammadu Buhari, Dr. Isa Ali Pantami and telecom regulator over the extension of deadline for NIN to be linked to SIM to February 9, 2021, reports ITREALMS.

ALTON also said the gracious approval would help a great deal for subscribers with NIN to link it to their SIM registration data from 19th January to 9th February 2021.

Confirming this, the Engr. Gbenga Adebayo and Sir Damian Udeh, the Chairman and Publicity Secretary of ALTON respectively, informed ITREALMS that the extension would give Nigerians and mostly mobile operators more time to accommodate several subscribers seeking to link their NIN with SIM.

They also commended President, General Muhammadu Buhari, retired and Minister for Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Ali Isa Pantami, for this extension.

“We want to thank the President for giving us more time to deliver on this all-important assignment of creating a credible national identity database for the country. We are also grateful to the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ibrahim Ali Pantami, for his commitment to enabling digital economy.

ALTON also advised that in order to ensure that the extension is judiciously used, urged all telecom subscribers who have a NIN to link it to their SIM Cards through available channels as soon as possible.

“Those yet to enrol are advised to visit www.nimc.gov.ng for a list of enrolment centres close to them,” ALTON said.
