"The digital space must not be left for non-professionals," he declared.

Also, he gave charge to the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Lagos State Council on the need to curb fake news particularly on social media.

Speaking during a courtesy visit by the newly-elected Executive members of the NUJ Lagos Council led by Mr Adeleye Ajayi, he said media practitioners should go beyond the traditional way of doing things, or else journalism would go into extinction.

Equally, he urged the union to channel more resources to digital media training of its members.

Further, the CPS advised journalists in the state to be creative enough aside from journalism in order to seek alternative means of livelihood.

Council chairman and leader of the delegation, Mr. Ajayi in his response pledged to look into issues raised and expressed optimism in having more mutual relationship and collaboration between the union and the Lagos State Government.

He described Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu as media-friendly, always willing and ready to assist the media.
