… NGE Standing Committee warns political class, tasks govt on insecurity
The Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) has raised strong concerns over the growing abuse of the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act by security agencies, particularly the police, to harass and intimidate journalists across the country, reports ITREALMS. In a communiqué issued at the end of its Standing Committee meeting in Jos, Plateau State, on September 17, 2025, the Guild warned that it would “no longer tolerate” such violations and vowed to explore all legal options to defend press freedom and the fundamental human rights of journalists.

Flooding induced fuel queues: NNPC, stakeholders vow to restore normalcy - ITREALMS

The NNPC Ltd declared that the fuel queues seen in some parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and in the country, alleging that it was due to flooding and thunderstorm, reports ITREALMS.

According to NNPC spokesman, Olufemi Soneye, he associated the fuel queues as a result of disruption of ship-to-ship (STS) transfer of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, between Mother Vessels and Daughter Vessels resulting from recent thunderstorm.

Atiku Abubakar, Chief Eze hinted that the Rivers Governor is a desperate opportunist who has earned himself a reputation of a political chameleon with a wagging tongue of deceit.
