MainOne extends SME solution to Yaba, S/Lere, Ikoyi

MainOne has extended coverage areas of its Small and Medium Enterprise (SME)-in-a-Box bundled connectivity solution across new areas in Lagos, reports ITRealms.

Product Manager at MainOne, Adeyemi Tanimomo said the company has added Yaba, Surulere, Victoria Island, Ikoyi and Marina to areas that can now benefit from the new high performance Internet solution targeted at SMEs, already available in Ikeja and Apapa.

Tanimomo explained that the coverage extension would enhance the company’s ability to deliver the best fiber-optic based unlimited connectivity solution in Lagos to small businesses in the new areas.

According to him, this network extension is in response to a successful pilot in Ikeja and Apapa in 2016 and the growing demand for the service across Lagos.

Mammoth turnout welcome Gyming with the Stars

Mammonth turnout, at the weekend in Lagos welcome the debut of Yudala’s Gyming with the stars, a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of the company at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, reports ITRealms.

The event which took place last Saturday, was to promote fitness, wellness and entrepreneurship among Nigerians, and saw the unveiling of YuBoss in partnership with Access Bank Plc and Airtel Nigeria.

ITRealms reports that the well-attended event kicked off by 7am with a work-out and light jogging sessions anchored by fitness instructors and ace comedian Ali Baba who doubled as compere.

Also, A-list artistes namely Iyanya and Naeto C were on hand to add to the excitement, thrilling the crowd to several hit songs from their collections.

In addition, the event also featured a wellness talk by a healthy living expert Miss Julie Nwosu, inspirational tips on wealth creation in the 21st Century through Yuboss and auction sales on a wide range of genuine products from the biggest brands: Smart phones, Computers, Laptops, IT equipment, Consumer Electronics and Lifestyle goods, with bidding starting from over 90 per cent off actual product prices. Star products of the day were the Phillips Air Fryer and Smoothies, latest healthy lifestyle products from the brand.

The novel event is expected to move to other major cities in the country including Ibadan, Asaba, Abuja, Owerri, Uyo and Enugu, among others to give Nigerians in those locations a chance to participate in the initiative.

Chief Executive Officer, Yudala Nigeria, Mr. Dave Ibelegbu said that the company is committed to empowering Nigerian youths to become the masters of their own destinies, while setting new standards for the retail business in Nigeria.

Visafone mast collapses in Surulere


A mast belonging to Visafone Communications on Sunday morning collapsed in a Lagos suburb of Surulere, reports ITRealms.

This, according to ITRealms investigations as affirmed by officials of the company was attributed to the heavy wind and downpour in Lagos over the night of Sunday.

ITRealms gathered that although no life was lost, there was absence of network and service in Surulere and environs on Visafone network until late afternoon, when the services were reportedly restored partially.


ITRealms recall that Visafone Communications Ltd emerged as a result of strategic acquisition of three (3) Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) mobile network operators that had operations for up to 8 years with 30,000 subscribers and coverage in different parts of Nigeria, was incorporated on June 20, 2007 after its acquisition of Cellcom and received a Unified Access Service Licence as a telecom operator from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on August 1, 2007 positioned it to offer mobile, fixed and any other telecommunications service to its subscribers.

Close-Up, partners plan to upset World Record on Tooth Brushing

Close-Up Toothpaste in partnership with Lagos State government, Nigerian Dental Association (NDA), HEIT Solutions, Vas2Net & Core Media, at the weekend commemorated the World Oral Health Day (WOHD) with plans to upset the World Record on Tooth Brushing.

ITRealms gathered that WOHD is celebrated every March 20 to prompt the public on the role of healthy mouth, gum and teeth play in the overall health of an individual. Just as the theme for this year was “Healthy Teeth for Healthy Life.”

The Oral Close-Up Category Manager at Unilever Nigeria, Mrs. Vivian Ihaza told participants Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos, that Close Up and its partners intended to nurture healthier teeth and gums among communities and families across the country.

“Close Up will support the event where 300,000 students, at the same time in Lagos State will take part in a World Record Tooth Brushing Challenge to break the Guinness Book of Records earlier set by India,” she disclosed, stressing that the latest Guinness Book of Records on the event held by India brought together 176,000 people to brush their teeth at the same time.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor on Health, Dr Yewande Adeshina reiterated the significance of a healthy oral hygiene and enjoined Nigerians to embrace a proper routine for their Oral Health which includes regular care of the teeth and mouth by brushing twice daily.

She also said that tooth brushing is an essential part of healthy living, declaring “the way we brush our teeth has been trivialized to the point that over the years as we get older we build germs, we build bacteria and we build diseases, people tend to take the mouth for granted but unfortunately, the mouth is actually one of the passages into the body from where we take nourishment and other things.”

Equally commenting, Close-Up Brand Manager, Mr. Dexter Adeola enjoined Nigerians to embrace the campaign to break a world record by counting down daily until the 23rd of May when the actual feat with 300,000 children will hold in Lagos State.
