Why Anambra cracked down on unauthorized ISPs - ITREALMS
This decisive action aims to ensure compliance with regulations, protect public infrastructure, and provide reliable internet services to residents.

According to a statement signed by Barr. Chike Maduekwe, Executive Chairman/Managing Director of the Anambra State Physical Planning Board (ANSPPB), and Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, Managing Director/CEO of the Anambra State ICT Agency, and available to
ITREALMS, the crackdown is part of the government's broader vision to promote responsible technology use and foster a safe and fair digital economy.

The government has identified several reasons behind the crackdown, including illegal road and sidewalk excavations, unauthorized pole erections, data breaches, and poor service quality risks.

These unauthorized activities not only compromise residents' safety but also undermine legitimate ISPs who are registered with the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) and are prepared to follow due process to provide reliable services.

Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious or unlicensed ISP activity by calling the dedicated hotline: 02014143039.

The government remains resolute in fostering a safe, fair, and well-regulated digital economy, where residents can enjoy reliable internet services without fear of exploitation or compromise.

This initiative,
ITREALMS gathered, aligned with the Soludo-led administration's vision for a well-regulated digital economy, and the government is committed to supporting registered and certified ISPs while ensuring that everyone plays by the rules.
