Dangote to Tinubu: We paid N450bn in 2024 taxes, pledges N900bn for infrastructure - ITREALMS

Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, recently met with President Bola Tinubu to announce that his conglomerate paid an unprecedented N450 billion in taxes to the Federal Government in 2024, solidifying its position as Nigeria's highest tax-paying company, reports

This substantial contribution surpasses the combined tax payments of all Nigerian banks.

Dangote further disclosed the Group's commitment to investing an additional N900 billion in road infrastructure across Nigeria.

He highlighted the Deep-Sea Port Access Road as one of several major road projects being developed under the Federal Government's tax credit scheme.

He noted that the Deep Sea Port Access Road is one of "eight major road projects totalling 500 kilometres, including two in Borno State that will eventually link Nigeria to both Chad and Cameroon."
Dangote Commends Tinubu's Leadership and Names Refinery Road After President

During the meeting, Dangote lauded President Tinubu's leadership, commending him as a courageous leader whose administration has revitalized investor confidence in the private sector.

He also expressed gratitude to the President for conceptualizing and implementing the Lekki Deep Sea Port project, assuring him of the private sector's unwavering support for nationwide infrastructure expansion.

In a significant gesture, Dangote announced that the main road leading to the state-of-the-art Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals will be named Bola Ahmed Tinubu Road in honor of the President. He remarked, "The Dangote refinery complex is, in many ways, your brainchild."

This announcement prompted President Tinubu to rise and shake hands with Dangote, a moment that was met with applause from attending dignitaries.
