ZOOMmobile slashes Internet price by 50%

Leading Unified Access licensee, the ZOOMmobile has announced the slash on its Internet prices by 50 per cent.

The Chief Strategy Officer, Reliance Telecomms Ltd trading under ZOOMmobile, Mr. Usman Amodu-Shuaibu, made this disclosure to ITRealms Online in Lagos at the weekend.

In a press statement made available to ITRealms Online, he said that the slash was to compliment the on-going sales drive by ZOOMmobile on its internet Value added services.

These special prices, he also said would last for about a month to stimulate new activation of Internet lines.

He explained that ZOOMmobile’s intended to delight prospective subscribers, by slashing the cost of activating its Universal Serial Bus (USB) modems; 727 and 595U respectively.

According to him, these modems previously cost N16,000.00 for a validity period of one month and has now been slashed to N8,000.00 and bundled with free 100 hours.

This slash, he said, takes immediate effect and offer is valid while stock last.

ITRealms Online recalls that in the last quarter of 2009, ZOOMmobile launched ‘BOLT’ which it tagged as an ultra-fast high speed broadband Internet package powered by EV-DO technology throughout the city of Lagos.

ZOOMmobile, had noted that this continued to lead in the up-scale Internet market with turbo-charged wireless technology that enables high speed broadband connectivity.

The teleco explained that EV-DO surpasses most wireless technology as it comes with valuable benefits for a variety of applications.

“BOLT is targeted at enhancing the digital lifestyles of Nigerians because life will just get more productive for those who want high-speed broadband Internet at any place or time,” he said.

As a result, streaming video, faster file downloads and uploads and superfast web browsing are no longer just home, office or cyber cafĂ© benefits,” company sources said.

ZOOMmobile Bolt customers, he said, could now enjoy blazing fast mobile broadband experience across Lagos metropolis whether they are working at a remote location, waiting to catch their flight at the airport, between classes on campus, relaxing in the park, sitting at a favorite eatery or as passengers in BRT - Lagos Public Transport - all for just N15,000 per month-a premium over current ZOOMmobile “Breeze” mobile data plans.
