FG pledges support for Anabel Mobile

Minister of Information and Communications, Prof. (Mrs) Dora Akunyili, has pledged government’s support for the work Anabel Mobile has been doing to put Nigeria on the map of countries that are producing mobile devices.

The Minister who received Anabel’s board and management team in her office at Radio House, Abuja, noted that the objectives and vision for mobile communications in the country, expressed pleasure that Anabel, a Nigerian brand, was leading the drive to design and manufacture mobile devices based on the requirements and desire of the Nigerian consumers.

She also said that Anabel should not limit itself to Nigeria, urging the mobile company to expand across Africa to demonstrate to the world the entrepreneurial spirit of Nigerians.

Prof. Akunyili expressed optimism that Anabel Mobile is a clear example of what re-branding Nigeria is all about.

“It’s about redefining our place in the global community and celebrating what is great about us as a people,” she said.

In his remark the Chief executive, Anabel Group, Mr. Nicholas Okoye commended the government liberalizing the telecommunications market in the country, reaffirming the determination of his company to set up a manufacturing facility in Nigeria before 2013.

Presently, Anabel is engaged in contract manufacturing off shore which is a global practice carried out by all known brands around and pledged to carry the spirit of
‘Good People, Great Nation’ beyond the shores of Nigeria with the Anabel range of world class mobile products.
