InterSwitch completes ATM solution for Sierra Leone bank

PREMIER switching and processing company in the country, InterSwitch Limited, has completed its Automated Teller Machines (ATM) driving solutions for Sierra Leone Commercial Bank.

This, the company said would drive growth in the electronic payments field in Sierra Leone, and also reduce the cost of retail transactions.

Managing Director, InterSwitch, Mr. Mitchel Elegbe who revealed this, said ATM driving solution controls include states and screens directly performing centralized routing, security processing, reconciliation, and proactive monitoring functions.

He also said that with this solution, Sierra Leone Commercial Bank Ltd, now has the ability to issue Debit Card payment instruments to its own customers that could be used on any of the customer touch points.

Mr. Elegbe noted that the prime objective was to achieve high service excellence through multi channel service platforms that will ensure convenience and ubiquity.

Executive Director, Information Technology, Mr. George Taylor, said Sierra Leone Commercial Bank is excited to offer customer convenience through electronic delivery.

“The addition of this electronic delivery channel will enable us to provide our customers greater access to their accounts and will give us long-term cost reductions,” he said.

Mr. Taylor pointed out that it the bank to control its ATM network in real time with ATM driving, ATM monitoring and ATM reporting, which runs on the Postilion software suites of product.

“Sierra Leone Commercial Bank is taking bold steps to add electronic methods to access account information. Through reseller agreements with Postilion Software, InterSwitch provides a comprehensive ATM hardware and software solution able to handle ATM driving, switching, network management, settlement and reconciliation. The InterSwitch solution incorporating Postilion lays the foundation for future enhanced functionality that allows financial institutions to explore new customer service options and fully develop their ATM networks as retail delivery channels,” he asserted.
