Celtel ends ‘Your dream’ promo, presents prizes

Pan African mobile communications operator, Celtel Nigeria has concluded its Win Your Dream Promo (WYDP) that began on November last year as the last two N15 millionaires were presented with their prizes on Tuesday, in Lagos.

Also, three other last winners in the N250,000 categories were presented with their winning letters among other winners.

The last pack of winners was led by Messes Friday Edeh and Oloyede Olusegun, while Messrs Babatunde I.O., Godfrey Kingsley and Isiaka Bola.

Speaking on WYDP, special guest at the occasion held at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, business mogul, Chief Keith Richards, who congratulated both the winners and Celtel, advised the winners to ensure that their prize is well used.

He also commended Celtel for introducing such a promo, saying that it has been innovative and creative.

He described WYDP as one of the best promotions ever witnessed by Nigerians and as a businessman he sees there are lots to be copied from the exercise.

“It is quite commendable for Celtel to have gone the extra mile to appoint financial advisors to guide the winners in choosing what is most suitable for them,” he said, stressing that it is a clear demonstration of corporate commitment to transparency and social responsibility.

“Its an eloquent testimony to Celtel’s commitment to its corporate philosophy of ‘making life better,’ Chief Richard said, just as he lauded the telco for hearkening to the yearnings of telecom subscribers in the country by introducing, last weekend, a new flat tariff, which he said, reduces call costs in addition to offering low costs across all networks.

“It is not just another first by Celtel, it is also unique and transparent as well as convenient,” he asserted.

In his address at the occasion, the chief operating officer of Celtel Nigeria, Mr. Lars Stork, described the final lap of the WYDP, as special for both the telco and millions of esteemed customers.

“Once again, we’re fulfilling a promise we have made to our customers. Today, we are celebrating with our dear customers whose lives have been made better by winning in the WYDP,” he said.

According to him, WYDP is a unique consumer offer, which Celtel painstakingly put together to assist customers to fulfill their life dreams.

“I am proud to say that the promotion was well-received by our customers judging by the level of enthusiastic participation and media coverage,” he said.

Mr. Stork noted that in the last 10 weeks the promo has produced 10 millionaire-winners of the big dream category to the tune of N15 million each, 300 winners in the mini-dream of N250,000, 100 winners of N5,000 airtime and 100,000 winners of N500 airtime.

In addition, he pointed out that 250,000 winners emerged in the N200 airtime category, 250,000 winners of N100 airtime, emphasising that together, there were 600,410 subscribers that won prizes totalling N351 million.
