Governor Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto has shown remarkable restraint. Otherwise, former Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and his Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Abdussamad Dasuki, would be explaining their stewardship to the EFCC and ICPC rather than granting newspaper interviews to rewrite history and turn the people against the incumbent administration. There is overwhelming evidence against them.

Governor Aliyu inherited enormous financial liabilities and administrative challenges from the previous administration — a reality reinforced by the findings of the Justice Abdulkadir Muazu Commission of Inquiry, which investigated the stewardship of the Tambuwal administration.

The Oyo State governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has announced a six-month extension of the payment of N25,000 and N15,000 wage award to civil servants and pensioners in the state.

The governor, who made the announcement at the commissioning of the 12.5 kilometres Challenge-Odo Ona Elewe-Apata Road, said the extension became important to allow the Federal Government conclude negotiations with the labour unions on a minimum wage.
