The chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Dr. Adamu Musa Aliyu, has expressed deep shock and condolences to Maureen Chigbo, Publisher of Realnews, following the brutal murder of her elder sister, Barrister Princess Nwamaka Mediatrix Chigbo, reports

The late Barrister Nwamaka, a prominent Abuja-based lawyer, was killed by unidentified kidnappers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on January 5, 2026, despite frantic efforts by her family and security agencies to rescue her.

The family of Princess Nwamaka Mediatrix Chigbo, an Abuja-based lawyer, is saddened to announce her brutal death at the hands of still-to-be-identified kidnappers in the Nigerian Federal Capital Territory on Monday, 5th January 2026.

Before her abduction, Barrister Nwamaka was on the phone with her sister Anthonia, who briefly interrupted the call to attend to a client. When she reverted, the barrister’s phone was still live, and Anthonia could hear her sister’s distress cry before the phone suddenly went dead and unreachable.

Anthonia alerted her elder sister, Maureen Chigbo, and other family members, who called the lawyer’s number repeatedly to reach her or her abductors to no avail.

Barely 24 hours after he was abducted by unknown gunmen, the President-General of Abatete community in Anambra State, High Chief Ezebinobi Chimame Ezigbo, has regained his freedom, after escaping from the kidnappers den, reports ITREALMS.

Confirming this development in a viral amateur video, Ezigbo in the company of the chairman of the vigilante in Abatete, said he escaped and called the community security chief to find him at a certain location, but the man came alone.

Police burst kidnappers hideout in Avu-Ihiagwa forest, arrest 5 suspects - ITREALMS

Based on credible intelligence, operatives of the Imo State Police Command Special Tactical Unit led by the Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma in synergy with some local hunters stormed a suspected kidnapper’s hideout in a forest between Avu and Ihiagwa, on 29/01/2024 and arrested of 5 suspected kidnappers, reports ITREALMS.

A Pastor of Pentecostal Church Cleric, Pastor Saheeb Adeniyi Adisa has been erroneously shot dead during a cross fire between the Ogun State Security outfit, So-Safe-Corps and kidnappers at Abule-Ori in Obafemi-Owode local Government Area of the state.

The sad discovery was made known by Commander of the agency, Commander Soji Ganzallo at a press conference attended by the widows and children of the late clergyman, held at headquarters of the security outfit in Abeokuta.
