PTD mocks NUPENG over threats to Dangote, tells drivers 'Ignore strike notice on Monday' - ITREALMS

The Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD) has ridiculed the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) over its escalating leadership crisis, and for its lack of coordination and wisdom to peacefully mitigate the cold war between the union and the management of Dangote refinery.

The tanker drivers also called for the immediate arrest of the leaders of NUPENG by law enforcement agents especially the Inspector General of Police and the Director-General of DSS so as to allow peace in the country and make Nigerians embark on their daily and legitimate businesses without any fear or molestation.

The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has denied any plan by the state governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke to quit the party, dismissing the rumour being spread on social media as fallacious and cheap lies.

The PDP in a statement signed by its Caretaker Chairman, Dr Akindele, on Friday, said the rumour which emanated from the All Progressives Congress (APC) is a failed distraction agenda, calling on Osun voters to troop out en masse and vote PDP candidates on March 11.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has urged Nigerians to ignore any message on fraudulent network shut down, declaring it as fraudulent, reports

A press statement available to ITREALMS and endorsed by the Director, Public Affairs at NCC, Mr. Reuben Muoka, said the attention of NCC, has been drawn to fraudulent and misleading information circulating in some social media platforms, insinuating there is a planned shutdown of all telecom networks and relevant ICT Units, including online transfer facilities of the banks, with effect from Thursday, February 23, 2023.
