The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) and Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) have filed a lawsuit against Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger State and the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) over intimidation of Minna-based radio station, Badeggi FM, and the threat to shut and crack down on the station using law enforcement.

Governor Bago recently directed security operatives to seal Badeggi FM, with threat to revoked its license, demolish the station’s premises, and profiling the station's owner, Shuiabu Badeggi.

Stop harassing SERAP, NGOs, FG told - ITREALMS

Group of civil society organisations (CSOs) in Nigeria have asked the Federal Government under the President, General Muhammadu Buhari, retired, to stop harassing them especially the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) over their assertiveness in exercising constitutional rights, arising from last year ban on Twitter, reports

The coalition in a press statement available to
ITREALMS and endorsed by the Executive Director, Enough is Enough (EiE) Nigeria, ‘Yemi Adamolekun; Executive Director, Media Rights Agenda (MRA), Edetaen Ojo; Deputy Director, Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), Kolawole Oluwadare; and Executive Director, Paradigm Initiative (PIN), 'Gbenga Sesan, lamented the incessant harassments by the government and its agents on non-governmental organisations in the country and rejected the allegation of destablising Nigeria.
