To redefine the intersection of technology and higher education governance, Madonna University Nigeria has appointed seasoned technology leader and cybersecurity expert, Rock Adote, to its Board of Trustees, reports ITREALMS.
Adote, a veteran in enterprise identity management and cybersecurity, brings over 20 years of experience to the board. His background in the telecommunications and financial sectors, including key roles at Diamond Bank and Uhuru Group, is expected to be the catalyst for a total overhaul of Madonna University’s digital infrastructure.
Industry analysts suggest Adote’s primary focus will involve hardening cyber-resilience: Protecting sensitive research data and student records from increasing global threats; Identity Sovereignty: Implementing robust enterprise systems to manage staff and student credentials; Administrative Modernization: Moving away from "Analog Optics" toward verifiable, transparent digital governance.
"Digital transformation will play a crucial role in shaping the future of academic administration, research, and learning environments," Adote stated during his inauguration. His inclusion on the board, alongside legal and academic luminaries like Chief Arthur Obi Okafor (SAN) and Professor Martin Osita Anagboso, reflects a "Technology-First" philosophy in institutional oversight.
"The era of managing universities through manual registries is over," noted an industry observer. "Adote’s appointment is a signal that Madonna University is hunting for the 'Data Fugitives'—the inefficiencies that hide in non-digital systems—and replacing them with modern, resilient frameworks."
The university also announced several other high-profile appointments to the Board of Trustees to work alongside Adote; Sir Nwagwu Aloysius Emeka, Chief Arthur Obi Okafor (SAN), Professor Anagboso Martin Osita (Deputy Vice-Chancellor), Mrs. Ike Angela Unaoaku, Barrister Augustine Nenwa Obo, and Rev. Fr. Stephen Ifeanyichukwu Nwatah.
ITREALMS gathered that as a graduate of the prestigious Havosoft legacy and a former Software Lead at Diamond Bank, Rock Adote is currently the Director of IT at Uhuru Group.
