The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) today affirmed that all its verification service platforms are fully functional and readily accessible to all partners, including security agencies, reports ITREALMS.

This statement addresses recent inaccurate reports suggesting a denial of access for the Police Service Commission (PSC) to NIMC's verification server, according to Dr. Kayode Adegoke, Head of Corporate Communications at NIMC.

NIMC, he said, clarified that the claim of the Police Service Commission's inability to access the NIMC verification server is misleading and incorrect.

For over five years, NIMC has consistently provided uninterrupted verification services to all Nigerian Police formations, the Police Service Commission (PSC), and other security agencies for the verification of National Identification Numbers (NINs).

These services have been pivotal for critical operations, including the recruitment exercises conducted by the PSC for the Nigeria Police Force. There have been no reported complaints or issues regarding NIN verification from the NPF or PSC during this extensive period.

NIMC, he said, maintains a robust and collaborative relationship with both the Nigerian Police Force and the Police Service Commission.

"The NPF's Information Communications and Technology (ICT) department actively manages the long-standing verification and integration services between NIMC and all Police formations," he said, stressing that NIMC remain committed to providing flawless verification services for recruitment, security mapping, cybercrime control, and other vital security matters.

"The framework for NIMC's service provision to security agencies was recently restructured for standardization and enhanced implementation, following extensive consultations with the Office of the National Security Adviser. The NPF has confirmed the continued availability of these verification services." He added, "Any service interruption experienced by the PSC is likely due to their internal processes," Dr. Adegoke said.

He reassured that NIMC is dedicated to delivering excellent verification services to the PSC, NPF, and all its partners, emphasizing that adherence to the established terms and conditions is essential for continuous and uninterrupted service delivery.
