Director-General of NBC, Malam Balarabe Shehu Ilelah in a public statement personally signed on Friday, December 30, 2022 and made available to ITREALMS, said that their attention has been brought to the plans by Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide to formally commence broadcast on January 1, 2023 under the Radio Ijangbara.

ITREALMS recalls that NBC was responding to a recent press statement jointly signed by the chairman and general secretary of Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide, Messrs Wale Adeniran and Tunde Amusat respectively.

NBC boss noted that hitherto, the online radio - Radio Ijangbara; was suspected to be broadcasting from Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

NBC warned it would not tolerate the use of any broadcast facility within or outside Nigeria to create disunity among Nigerians and intentionally to mislead people in a deliberate act of subversion and sedition.

"Nigeria do not need another round of heartache and disruption by any tribal interest group," he said.

Also, NBC cautioned that no person shall operate or use any apparatus or premises for the transmission of sound or vision by cable, television, radio, satellite or any other medium of broadcast from anywhere in Nigeria without the approval of the Commission.

He further urged Nigerians to unite in joining hands with the government to build a stronger and more prosperous nation and to help in the success of next year's General Elections.
