Overland Airways denies involvement in alleged Ilorin plane crash, demands apology - ITREALMS

ITREALMS ... making leadership SENSE with digital news!

Overland Airways has refuted any involvement of its planes in alleged crash in Ilorin over the weekend, reports
ITREALMS.
The Airline also said is malicious to use its photographs while any media reported on alleged crash fully aware it was not involved.
A press statement from Overland Airways, endorsed by the Manager Corporate Services, and made available to ITREALMS, the company said that "Our attention has been drawn to malicious use of Overland Airways photograph in a report by The Nation Newspaper online which depicted that Overland Airways aircraft was involved in an accident at Ilorin airport on Friday, July 23rd 2021, irrespective of the fact that the report also stated that the incident involved a different airline.

"We want to state clearly that Overland Airways was not involved in the said incident as maliciously purported by The Nation Newspaper.

"We are dismayed by the sheer harmful intention of the widely read Newspaper to mislead the public in the report which has since gone viral online.

"Overland Airways is an IATA member airline that operates to the highest global safety standard with the globally acclaimed IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) Registration, a global benchmark of operational safety amongst the world's biggest airlines.

"Overland Airways condemns the irresponsibility displayed by the Newspaper in publishing the false and misleading report.

"We, therefore, demand an unreserved apology from the Newspaper and their corrigendum on their newspaper to correct the false damaging impression on Overland Airways to the general public.

"Overland Airways has been consistently operating scheduled and charter services for almost 20 years in Nigeria and West Africa region.

"Overland Airways is committed to providing safe and efficient air transport service to support our passengers, as well as Nigeria's and the region's economies."
