Nigeria will be rolling out the 5G networks in the next couple of months. This network that is virtually limitless to the extent of including autonomous cars and runs with much faster speeds, vast data capacity and lower latency – response time is expected to underpin entirely new technologies such as self-driving cars, telemedicine, etc. It is as well expected that its security is much more complicated as it may in turn attract cyberintrusions by criminals or terrorists, even when some experts say 5G's security was taken into account at the point of establishing the technology’s norms.
