The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has partnered the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) to establish a SME Digital Academy, reports 
ITREALMS.

The SME Digital Academy is a public-private partnership initiative being driven by the NCC, SMEDAN, and Sapphital Learning Limited, a leading digital learning platform, essentially to provide micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) owners with digital skills to enhance their entrepreneurial skills. The partnership also aims to equip entrepreneurs and start-ups with the necessary digital skills required to navigate the increasingly digitised world.

Nigerian President, General Muhammadu Buhari retired, has congratulated the Editor-in-Chief/Chief Operating Officer of Premium Times Nigeria, Mr. Musikilu Mojeed, over his emergence as the President of the Nigeria chapter of the International Press Institute (IPI) at the weekend, reports

The Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media & Publicity), Malam Garba Shehu, in a press statement available to ITREALMS, quoted Gen. Buhari as also felicitating with the General Manager, Business and Strategy of Media Trust Limited, publishers of Daily Trust, Ahmed I. Shekarau, who was elected Secretary of IPI Nigeria.

Ahead of the anticipated 2022 rollout of Fifth Generation (5G) network in Nigeria, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has organised capacity building workshops for media executives in the northern and southern divides of the country, as part of efforts to support their continuous professional development critical stakeholders in the telecommunications industry.
The workshops, which took place in Kano and Lagos recently with the theme: “5G Deployment and the Next Level of Nigeria’s Development,’ provided an avenue for media stakeholders to have better knowledge and understanding of the potentials of the new technology.

Nigeria, Palestine sign deal to combat corruption - ITREALMS

Nigeria’s Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with the State of Palestine’s Anti-Corruption Commission and the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) based in Laxenburg, Austria.
The agreements are part of measures by the ICPC to enhance its fight against corruption in the country.

The Chairman of the ICPC, Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye, SAN, signed the two agreements on behalf of Nigeria while the Commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Commission of the State of Palestine, Mr. Raed Radwan, signed for his country and the Dean of IACA, Thomas Stelzer, signed for his organisation.

5G License Auction: Airtel explains why it pulled out after $270m bid - ITREALMS

The Group Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Africa, Mr. Segun Ogunsanya, has commended the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) for a transparent 5G auction completed on December 13, 2021 while adducing reasons for its pulling out of the the exercise, reports 
ITREALMS.
In a press statement available to ITREALMS, Mr. Ogunsanya confirmed that the Nigerian subsidiary of the company pulled out of the auction after submitting its final bid of $270m.

Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has assured the citizens of the State that he would hand Ekiti over to the incoming administration in a manner better than what was handed over to him in 2018.
