The trio, Selasie Brown, Danso Reginald Omarion and Richmong Boampong defeated over 1,000 other contestants to cart home the cash prizes in the mortal combat category as well as the deserved third-place prize in the FIFA Tournament held at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos between July 24 and 25, 2015.

ITRealms gathered that Selasie Brown led the team to Nigeria and went home with the third-place prize of N100, 000.00 in the FIFA Tournament, the same could not be said of Danso Reginald Omarion and Richmond Boampong as they both failed to make the last four.

While the first and second prizes of N500,000.00 and N300,000.00 went to the Nigerian duo of Adedeji Opoola and Adeyinka Aregbesola respectively.

On the mortal combat contest, ITRealms gathered it was a straight fight between Danso and Richmond as they battled for the top prize to the delight of spectators, but Danso eventually emerged winner with a cash prize of N300,000.00 and Richmond settled for N200,000.00 whereas Selasie completing their dominance with a respectable third-place performance that fetched him N100,000.00.

Selasie lamented not taking his chances in the semi-final match against Yinka, but expressed joy that he represented his home country, Ghana, well.

“I think the feeling is great. I still feel I could have done a little bit more because I missed a couple of chances against Yinka, but I mean, it is a game, and sometimes you lose or win. I am glad to have been able to represent my Ghanaian community in Nigeria,” 31 year-old Selasie said.

The Gaming Contest was one of the cardinal features of the TECH+ conference and exhibitions powered by MTN Nigeria with sponsorship from Huawei, Jumia, Coscharis Motors, Samsung, Google, Uber and Terragon Group. ‘CPC dead on social media’

Supposed lead Federal Government agency on consumer protection in Nigeria, the Consumer Protection Council (CPC) could be said to be dead literally on social media, reports ITRealms.

Investigations by ITRealms, revealed that both CPC social media accounts, namely the Twitter handle and Facebook may have been ‘dead’ for over three years now.

Further investigations by our reporter showed that the Twitter handle @CPCNig no longer function and attempt displays “Sorry, that page doesn’t exist” by Twittes, just as its not searchable online.

Suspicion is high that the Twitter of CPC Nigeria may have been created by a techie consultant that has not been paid since in the inception of President Muhammadu Buhari as that seem to be the mantra of some failing Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) since Buhari took over.

This is coming as its Facebook page was last updated over three years ago and precisely on May 15, 2012.

The inability of its Facebook page and Twitter to be alive, sources close to CPC confirmed, was due to lack of commitment from the agency over dealings with its ICT consultants.

For instance, the last CPC-ALERT on the Facebook was on a discovery of some un-named commonly-used packaged consumer products which it claimed are under filled or under-dispensed in their packages, thereby short-changing the consumers.

With over 80 million Nigerians online and over 50 per cent daily engaging on social media such as Facebook and Twitter to name a few, industry watchers described lopsided attitude of CPC on social media as awful.
