UBA, Injoo, others applaud Techplus’17

The Technology-Techplus Conference and Exhibition, that held last week at Landmark event centre, Lagos; brands have continued to share the massive gains the platform provided for quality consumer engagement and direct sales in various categories.

Techplus 2017 offered top players from the banking, e-commerce, Telco, health care, ICT,  Education, Advertising and many other sectors an opportunity to show case their products and services. Brands such as UBA, Innjoo, Stanbic IBTC, Wema Bank, Remitta, Sage, Samsung, Lenovo, Jumia, Avon HMO, HP, were not left out

Rakesh Rocque, Country Manager, Innjoo Technology was full of praises for the organizers for creating a platform that enhanced direct engagement between consumers and the brands, and allowing for on-the-spot feedback and idea sharing. He said, not only was it a good marketing platform for effective networking and building of business contacts, the classes were quite informative and educating. “We will continue to key into the advantage of Techplus platform annually’’ he added.

In his comments, Nonso Nduanya, Customer Service, Product Marketing, UBA, noted that, it was the banks’ first experience at Techplus, saying ‘he was impressed with the organization and customers response to the offerings was rewarding. He added that, if such huge platform is spread across major cities in Nigeria, it will help to foster consumer-brand relationships”.

Still on a high positive note, Kehinde John, an exhibitor with Avon, a premium health Management Company revealed that Techplus 2017 has been a great experience in terms of contacts, quality of participants, good environment and remarkable support from the organizers. “Very few participants would not want a repeat after this type of excitement that was sustained for three consecutive days. I know the organizers will raise the bar next year” she said.

IBM partners Techplus on agricultural challenges with hackathon

The International Business Machines (IBM) is partnering Techplus 2016 on agricultural challenges with a three-fold hackathon focusing on Africa’s agricultural sector, reports ITRealms.

Tagged ‘Hack-Pitch-Code’ the event will bring together computer programmers, developers and hackers to deliver technologically driven novel solutions to agricultural challenges in Africa during the conference.

The code festival is targeted at both students and non-students who will be expected to creatively crack a given brief utilizing new technologies that will debut at #TechPlus2016. The solutions are expected to capture challenges of agricultural production, processing, promotion and distribution in Africa. Developers will be hosted at the IBM Innovation Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, creating a conducive environment for teams to come up with forward-thinking and creative solutions for agricultural production, processing, promotion and distribution.

Talented teams will present their solutions and designs to professional coders and key industry partners who will assess their viability. Winning groups will be awarded a sum of #1million in form of scholarship or funding. Selected finalists will also receive training and mentorship, job opportunities, business and idea structuring and other valuable resources.

The jury is composed of key ICT personnel such as Helen Anatogu, CEO iDEA; Chinenye Mba-Nzoukwu, CEO Infographics; Pelumi Adeniran, CEO HTS; Tobi Oke, Intel; 
Karthik Noornie, CIO Olam Group and Rodney Williams, Founder LISNR.


The hackathon event will present the African agricultural realities and challenges to participants, assist in team formation, brainstorming, concept design and development, validating and prototyping. Omobola Johnson, Scot, Anammah lead other speakers lineup for TechPlus 2016

The former Minister of Communication Technology and chairperson, Alliance for Affordable Internet (A4AI), Dr. Mrs. Omobola Johnson, has been confirmed to participate at the forthcoming TechPlus 2016, reports ITRealms.

She is expected to be joined by the Chief Information Officer, United States office in Nigeria, Mr. Tony Scot, chief executive officer, Jumia Nigeria, Juliet Anammah, among others.
The Managing Director of the organizing firm, Connect Marketing; Tunji Adeyinka,  confirmed this to ITRealms in a press statement.

“TechPlus Conference and Expo is a place where new technology comes to life, new products are launched and innovations converge to provide manufacturers, concept generators, software and hardware companies, content developers a unique platform to bring their products and services to life,” he said.

He also explained that the event is created as a platform where brands can connect with key decision makers and their target audience. This is evident in the caliber of premium brands that have signed to come onboard for the TechPlus 2016 event.

TechPlus lines up govt, business leaders in Lagos

Industry leaders both in the government and other technology driven sectors have been confirmed as speakers at Nigeria’s largest tech event, TechPlus2016, holding July 21-23, 2016 at the Eko Hotels Conference Centre, Lagos, Nigeria, reports ITRealms.

TechPlus 2016, the second edition of Nigeria's largest tech event, is a gathering of everything technology providing a robust tripartite tech experience through its conference, exhibition and gaming structures while serving as a platform for knowledge sharing, networking and marketplace for consumers and businesses, with its dedicated website on www.techplus.ng.
