Umeh's Election: A Victory for Ndi Igbo - Aniagoh

The leader of the ‘South East Is APGA’ Campaign, Rotarian Ifeanyi Aniagoh has described the success of Chief Sir Victor Umeh at the last Saturday's Senatorial Election Rerun in Anambra State as a victory for the Igbo nation, reports ITRealms.

In a special congratulatory message to the senator-elect, Aniagoh explained that the election of Chief Umeh would not only serve the interest of the people of his senatorial district but would give prominence to the Igbo Project starting with his trademark long red cap.

"Chief Umeh is a man known for his long red cap, an identity that stands him out as a typical Igbo son who is proud of his origin. He won't stop at representing ndi Anambra Central but his presence will heavily project the Igbo project,” he declared.

He stressed that "His impact within few weeks at the National Confab confirms his quality, a courageous leader with in-depth knowledge of the law."

Aniagoh also assured that Umeh will exceed people's expectations and reiterated that APGA is favoured to take over the South-East States; "Umeh as a Senator will deliver on his promises and perform beyond expectations. His presence will also awaken other voices in the Senate just as his election has affirmed the fact that South East is APGA."

For him, Igbo people now understand that embracing APGA is the only way to end the marginalization of the people of South-East. Stressing that was why we recorded a 21-over-21 flawless victory last year and now we have a Senator-elect winning in all the polling units, which is the “First in history!"

With APGA in all the South-East States, Aniagoh emphasized that “Ndi Igbo are sure of good governance and a rapid regional development as being witnessed in Anambra State today."

As a people with one voice united in APGA, he said, Ndigbo can easily reach out and take what belongs to them in the national equation.

"We have the number, we have the economic power and the geniuses required of a nation. All we lack is unity of purpose and that is what APGA has brought to us," he said, expressing special thanks to the people of Anambra Central for standing up for the only party that gives voice to Ndi Igbo.

Responsible use, key to social media influence – Aniagoh

The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Social Media to Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State, Mr. Ifeanyi Aniagoh has urged West Africa Bloggers to be creative and use social media responsibly so as to influence their societies, reports ITRealms.

Speaking at the just concluded two-day conference of bloggers in Lagos, Aniagoh cautioned those uncreative to avoid social media as they may not stand the test of time, but expressed glad on what have been achieved in recent times by genuine social media experts who mean business.

He defined social media as a means of interaction among people in which they create, share and or exchange information as well as ideas via virtual communication, but was quick to add that responsible use of these tools is the secret of social media influence on the society.

“I am continually excited about what social media experts have achieved and provoked by what is still possible,” he asserted.

According to him, there are over 60 million active internet users in Nigeria, making it the largest internet population on the continent, noting that with a click, one passes information to thousand folds of people in a second, and describing that as the power of the social media.

He also said that social media has given people, especially the new generation who are Information Technology (IT) savvy, a new and effective instrument to come together for issues they believe in.

“I am a living testimony. Social Media is the revolution of our century,” he declared, pointing out that some of the recent social transformations in West African history were empowered via social media platforms.

Aniagoh cited an instance with Anambra State, where he said, social media has kept youths more informed and up to date; opened up channels for job vacancies, which has improved employment situation.

“The social media is gradually enabling Anambra youths to more effectively put pressure on how Ndi Anambra are governed,” he said, emphasizing that today, social media has taken the front burner as a means of educating and receiving feedback from the populace, hence serving as the vital link between the government and the governed.
