GOCOP, IPC sign MoU to advance inclusive reporting of gender issues in democratic process - ITREALMS

The Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) and the International Press Centre (IPC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote inclusive reporting of gender issues in Nigeria's democratic and electoral process, reports ITREALMS.

This partnership, signed on November 3, 2025, aims to ensure women and minority groups, such as Persons With Disabilities (PWDs), have a platform to participate in politics and governance.
GOCOP President, Danlami Nmodu, emphasized the Guild's commitment to promoting inclusiveness and gender equality in Nigeria. "At GOCOP, we are committed to deepening the reportage of gender issues. We are determined to ensure that we engage, sensitise and enlighten women on elections, governance and other issues of national importance."

The MoU was signed by Nmodu and Lanre Arogundade, IPC's Executive Director. Notable stakeholders, including NAWOJ's Aisha Bura Ibrahim and NLC's Joe Ajaero, attended the ceremony.

While Ibrahim stressed the importance of credible elections, while Ajaero commended the organizations for promoting women's visibility in the media.

This partnership is a significant step towards promoting gender equality and inclusivity in Nigeria's democratic process.
