Dangote Petroleum Refinery has expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his timely intervention in averting what it described as “the disruptive actions of PENGASSAN” against the company.
“Dangote Refinery is grateful to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his intervention through his ministers and senior officials, which resulted in the abatement of the disruptive actions of PENGASSAN against the Refinery,” the statement read.
Among those commended for their “tireless efforts” were the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Mr. Adeola Toyin Ajayi; and Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Mr. Mohammed Mohammed.
Others included the Honourable Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Mohammed Dingyadi; Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun; Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Bagudu; and Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, whom the company said worked “untiringly and determinedly into the wee hours” to avert what it termed a national disruption.
“We remain very grateful to these officials for their patriotism and selfless national service,” Dangote Refinery noted.
The company also extended heartfelt appreciation to Nigerians for their overwhelming public support during the crisis.
“To Nigerians of all walks of life, we owe you more than a debt of gratitude,” the statement continued. “Your support for our cause was humbling and energizing. You reinforced our belief in the Nigerian people as the backbone of our enterprise. Be assured that we will continue to work for your interest and defend it against rent seekers and economic saboteurs.”
Dangote Refinery commended its workforce for their loyalty and discipline, saying they ensured uninterrupted operations despite tension and external provocations.
“To our loyal workers who stood firm even in the face of incitement from detractors, we say thank you. The strength of Dangote Group lies in our people, their dedication, discipline, and unalloyed commitment to our mission. Be assured that your contributions will continue to be recognized and rewarded,” it affirmed.
Reiterating its reputation as one of Nigeria’s foremost private employers, the company emphasized that the Dangote Group remains a model in fair employment practices and industrial development.
“With due modesty, Dangote Group is recognized as one of Nigeria’s largest private employers of labour and a leading contributor to national tax revenue. Our compensation framework meets international standards, prioritizing employee welfare, dignity, and professional growth,” the statement added.
The company also applauded the Nigerian judiciary for standing firm in defense of justice and the rule of law.
“One institution we must loudly acknowledge is the Nigerian judiciary. They stood for truth and justice, even as some oligarchs displayed open contempt for lawful orders. Their courage in upholding due process at a time of provocation reaffirmed their role as a bastion of hope,” it said.
Dangote Refinery concluded by reaffirming its unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s economic progress and energy independence.
“We will not relent in serving the Nigerian nation faithfully and diligently through the uninterrupted production of petroleum products.
"Our commitment to national development remains steadfast, undiluted, undiminished, and unalterable, regardless of distractions from detractors and saboteurs,” the statement concluded.
