The fundamentals of chess to get you started  include:

The Board
1. 8x8 Grid: The chessboard consists of 64 squares, arranged in an 8x8 grid.

2. Squares: Squares are usually colored in a checkered pattern, with light and dark squares alternating.

The Pieces
1. Six Types: There are six types of pieces: king, queen, rook, bishop, knight, and pawn.
2. Unique Movements: Each piece has its own unique way of moving around the board.

Objective
1. Checkmate: The ultimate goal is to checkmate your opponent's king, meaning the king is under attack and cannot escape capture.

Basic Rules
1. Turns: Players take turns moving one piece at a time.
2. Capturing: Pieces can capture opponent pieces by landing on the occupied square.
3. Special Moves Some pieces have special moves, such as castling (king and rook) and en passant (pawn).

These fundamentals provide a foundation for understanding the game of chess.
