Tech Women: US, Intel,others partner to develop women - ITREALMS -

ITREALMS ... making leadership SENSE with digital news!

Nigeria young women has been enjoined to advance their technological skills, reports ITREALMS.
This call was made by the United States (US) Consulate General, Claire Pierangelo in her keynote address at the graduation ceremony of 10 mentees between the ages of 18-30years in Lagos.

She reiterated her country's readiness in partnership with young women in Nigeria to develop them technologically in order to compete with others in developed nations.

Pierangelo said there are many resources, materials which have been set up to aid the mentees to achieve their goals and advance them professionally.

These young women, she noted now have access, "most importantly they have formalities with women in the industry to make them understand how it really works."

The mentees were advised  to replicate their trainings in few years as an alumni to continue this programme as a Nigerian-driven project.

The programme ITREALMS gathered was set to organize workshop, mentorship to reach to many young women for the sake of the incoming generations for positive changes in the country.

"We expects the young women to be back in few years as an alumni continuing this programme as a Nigerian-driven program, we will always be here as U.S sponsors to support but the most amazing thing about this program is that this is now the Nigeria-women driving, supporting and pushing it forward" she said.

Pierangelo equally appreciated the efforts of host of technological companies like Microsoft company, Intel, and SOLAR system.
  
Also speaking at the ceremony Country Executive Director, Intel Mrs Rita Ndidi Amuchenwa  reiterated her company's effort to foster the young women technological advancements.
 
She enjoined women to gear up their technological skills to match with their counterparts.

Amuchenwa advised women to take up every challenge that comes their way, be aspiring and determined to break the barriers.

"My advise to every woman is to take up every challenge that comes your way, plan and learn through it, If you challenge yourself today, you will be able to do it, pull through it and become one of those powerful leaders that you see today in Nigeria" she said.
President United States Govt Exchanges Alumni Association (USGEAA) Mr. Mike Okwoche, also presented awards of certificates to the TechWomen Nigeria Group Mentors to appreciate their unalloyed support and assistance to the mentees.

ITREALMS recalls that for six weeks, 10 mentees between the ages of 18-30years were paired with ten powerful women in Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) to promote the advancement of these young women in technological skills.
