Ogbuanyinya Ike Manafa joins his ancestors, aged 93 - ITREALMS

A colossus, Ogbuanyinya Ike Manafa, the Onowu Iyasili n’Idu Eri kingdom has passed on to glory at the age of 93, reports ITREALMS.

The late Ogbuanyinya Ike Manafa, ITREALMS gathered was during his lifetime a walking encyclopedia of Aguleri kingdom and reputed for being the custodian of sacred Iduu Eri customs and traditions.
Confirming this to ITREALMS, the Vice Chairman of Aguleri World Forum, Chief Basil Manafa, described late Ogbuanyinya Ike Manafa as a fulfilled man who remained active till his passage on Tuesday morning, October 19, 2021.

According to Chief Basil Manafa, the late Onowu Iyasili n’Idu Eri made efforts to record Aguleri history and traditions to the extent University of Nigeria Nsukka and University of Ibadan were consulting him. “And he worked with renowned Igbo Archaeologists to restore the light of Aguleri even when majority considered him crazy,” he said.

In addition, ITREALMS gathered that the late Onowu fought for the restoration of Umuezeora Dynasty knowing it’s key to our restoration as Isi Igbo.

“He was a legend and I celebrate him,” Chief Manafa, a prominent Aguleri indigene declared of his late uncle.

ITREALMS equally gathered that he has been buried Tuesday according to his instructions.

“He believed in the unity of all Igbos and talks about the connection of the Igbos to Benin and to Ife, etc. He was an amazing spirit. In all, I thank God for his life. He lived well,” Chief Manafa said.
