Sources close to the emergency ambulance service provider, EMRO, confirmed to
ITREALMS that majority of the patients were bleeding severely following gunshot injuries, while others had compounds fractures while some had punctured wounds from stabs from machetes and dangerous objects.
“All these patients were stabilized and evacuated to different supporting hospitals,” our source declared.

As part of its contribution,

Responding to EMRO activities towards the #EndPoliceBrutality protest, the Managing Director, Mr. Ken Spann told
ITREALMS, the Emro team is committed to saving lives and has now fully extended its services to Abuja, the nation’s federal capital territory; to close more gaps between Nigerians and medical emergency services so as for them to have access to quick and effective ambulance response.

Further, he said that Emro ambulances and medics were on standby at different protest locations in Lagos and Abuja to provide medical assistance to protesters and were particularly involved in the ambulance response and evacuation of gunshot victims at the Lekki Tollgate Protest.

“The Emro team delivered medical supplies like packs of KN95 masks, Medical Masks, cartons of 2,5,10mls Syringes and Needles, Cartons of Latex examination gloves, Surgical gloves, Cartons of IVF Normal saline, Cannulas, Urinary Catheter and Urine Bags,” he said.

All these, he said, “were delivered to the hospitals to support in managing these gunshot victims.”

In addition, he said, Emro deployed some health and safety tips on its social media handles, stressing that for any medical emergency near you, Nigerians can contact Emro via its emergency lines.
