AIG Aisha Abubakar seeks partnership with FCT NAWOJ - ITREALMS

The Assistant Inspector General of Police, Dr Aisha Abubakar, has called for more formidable force among womenfolks towards effective participation in governance as well as contributing their quotas in national development, reports ITREALMS.

Dr Abubakar who currently is the most senior female police officer, made the call during a courtesy visit by the Executives of FCT Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, (NAWOJ) at Police Force headquarters, Abuja.
She stressed the need for more synergy and collaborations among women groups in mentoring and empowering younger generation as well as waging war against all forms of violence against women.

The AIG, who is also the current first female National President of Nigeria Council of Veterinary Doctors commended the commitments of the present IGP in being gender sensitive and promoting better welfare packages for female officers.

Earlier in her remarks, the FCT Chairperson of NAWOJ, Comrade Stella Okoh-Esene congratulated the AIG for being the most senior female officer in the Nigerian Police force (NPF) and for her recently earned promotion, while praying and hoping that in the future she emerges the first female IGP.

Comrade Okoh- Esene reiterated the efforts of FCT NAWOJ in advancing the course of women and children, and expressed optimism that the already established relationship and partnership would impact positively on the women folks in the country.

Comrade Okoh-Esene informed the AIG that NAWOJ FCT visited to commend her and the IGP and seek areas of mutual collaborations and to solicit support from her as NAWOJ FCT has a candidate vying for Zonal Secretary Zone D NAWOJ, to convey its delegates to and from Minna, for the association's triennial delegates conference holding from 10-12th November 2020.
