Letter to wife on World Cancer Day: CancerAware partners ARCON, LUTH - ITREALMS

NaijaAgroNet is adding its voice to the commemorate 2019 World Cancer Day, just as a non-government organization, CancerAware is collaborating with the Association of Radiation and Clinical Oncologists of Nigeria (ARCON) and the Department of Radiotherapy & Oncology, Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) to offer free Community Breast Cancer Screening Outreach, reports ITREALMS.

NaijaAgroNet is the award-winning online newsmagazine with focus on agro-business and role of ICT4SD in achieving 21st century towards connecting agriculture, water, sanitation, women, youths, Web 2.1 training, environment, health and ICT to bring about ZERO hunger and food security in the society.

World Cancer Day, ITREALMS recalls, is an international day marked on February 4 to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment. World Cancer Day was founded by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) to support the goals of the World Cancer Declaration, written in 2008.

To this end, ITREALMS gathered the tripartite partnership would offer free screening on Friday, 8th February 2019 beginning from 9am till 2pm.

According to CancerAware, the screening would take place at the Old Children’s Emergency (Behind D Block) Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba, Surulere, Lagos.

ITREALMS also gathered that beneficiaries would receive free clinical breast examination, free mammograms for women aged 40 and above.

CancerAware also promises a free tutorial on breast self-examinations.
