Nigeria’s revolutionary
free Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) service app, Red Cheetah, has emerged Nigeria’s
best trending app on Google Play Store in the lifestyle category, reports ITREALMS.
RedCheetah, ITREALMS gathered topped trends on
Sunday, August 19 and prior to its emergence, the app has maintained its
position in the top 10 apps in this category.
The app, which was
launched in March this year by Nigeria’s leading broadband service provider,
SWIFT Networks beat stiff competition from other top e-commerce, fashion and
celebrity apps in the lifestyle category to achieve this feat.
It has so far witnessed
over 60,000 downloads with actively daily growing usage sessions at the over
400 live hotspots in the various parts of Lagos, including the Hard Rock Cafe,
Barcelos, Tastee Fried Chicken, Sweet Sensation, 3CHub, SLOT, major tertiary
institutions and BRT buses. It offers free fast and secure broadband Wi-Fi
service to users supported by advertising revenue from leading global brands
with strong corporate social responsibility credentials.
The Managing Director
and Chief Executive Officer of SWIFT Networks, Mr. Charles Anudu, said, Red
Cheetah is at the heart of the digital inclusion dream of the government and
lifestyle of the teeming young population.

impressive ratings on Google Play Store by our teeming users. It is proving to
be the ideal service model to deepen internet penetration among Nigeria’s

Upon
download, users enjoy 1GB of free internet data per device per day. The Red
Cheetah app works by establishes a secure Virtual Private Network (VPN)
connection to the SWIFT internet gateway to ensure the privacy of any data
communication via this service.
To
enjoy the Red Cheetah free Wi-Fi service, users are required to download the
Red Cheetah app from the Google Play Store and follow a simple, one-time
registration process as required by the regulation guiding such services. The
iOS version of the RED CHEETAH app is expected to be launched soon to further
expand the number of people who could enjoy this service.
