The Silverbird Rhythm FM journalist, Mr. Richard Edoki has
been selected alongside other professionals by the United States government to
participate in the 2017 International Visitors Leadership Programme (IVLP) in
the United States, reports ITRealms.
The Cross River State born News Editor, ITRealms gathered,
is among nine other Nigerians invited for the three weeks programme between
October 16 and November 3 on the theme “Substance Abuse Prevention and
Rehabilitation."
Edoki, a Mass Communication graduate is an Alumni of
Bloomberg Media Initiative Africa, a Michael Bloomberg Scholarship Programme.
Also, ITRealms reports that the three weeks programme is
expected to assist participants especially journalist to explore the opportunities in health
education, substance abuse and prevention as well as research and development,
treatment, care and rehabilitation of substance abusers.
ITRealms recalls the IVLP was launched in 1940, as the U.S
Development of States Exchange Programme that seeks to build mutual
understanding between the U.S and other nations through short-term visit to the
U.S for current and emerging foreign leaders.
