The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) and Transatlantic Media Company (TMC) have entered into partnership deal through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost the participation of the broadcast media at the forthcoming 22nd edition of Cable, Broadcast and Satellite (CABSAT) slated for the World Trade Centre in Dubai, the United Arab Emirate, ITRealms report.

Revealing the direction and content of the agreement, TMC President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dr. Bayero Agabi, said the company, which produces Cyber Africa television and magazine, has the mandate to market CABSAT in Nigeria and Ghana as Africa's regional partner.

He said, CABSAT 2016, scheduled for March 8-10, would be a gathering of broadcast technocrats and content producers to deliberate on the future of Africa's cable, broadcast and satellite prospects.

"As the world adapts to digital content delivery, it is the thrust of our organisation to help project the inherent values of Africa's culture and heritage at the world stage via our superb broadcast content. We are committed to assist NBC to fast track the migration from analogue to digital broadcast in 2016,” Agabi said.

NBC official said the collaboration with TMC would ensure Nigeria's participation during the three-day event at decision making levels with anticipated capacity to attract investors.

“TMC for CABSAT 2016 is part of our agency’s mandate to ensure that appropriate modalities are put in place to make Nigeria meet up with International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Digital Switch Over (DSO)” NBC official said.
