MTN, Intel power Nigerian pupils with education bundle

The duo of the MTN Nigeria and Intel, have joined hands to power Nigerian pupils with educational bundle.

Currently, MTN Nigeria is leading telecommunications operator in the country, while Intel is reputed as the global counterpart in silicon innovation.

ITRealms Online gathered that both have initiated a programme tagged ‘MTN Education Bundle,’ which is aimed at developing Nigerian children into whizkids in the future.

Chief Marketing Officer, MTN Nigeria, Mr. Bola Akingbade, said the initiative encompasses mainly a laptop preloaded with free internet access for three (3) months and a rich bouquet of exclusive educational content.

According to him, MTN Education Bundle was specifically designed for children from nursery to senior secondary school for easy learning and exploration of the world via the internet.

Akingbade also said the bundle came out of the desire of the two organizations, MTN and Intel; to positively impact the future of Nigeria by building solid education foundation for the children.

Further, he said, the initiative aimed at ensuring that Nigerian children are equipped with 21st century skills, including computer proficiency and critical thinking.

He pointed out that the initiative would deepen understanding of such critical school subjects as mathematics and the sciences.

“In essence, this initiative is aimed at enabling our children to thrive and take advantage of the knowledge economy,” Akingbade said.

The MTN Education Bundle, he explained offers children exclusive access to resources from the innovative e-learning website Skoool.com, developed by Intel for the sole purpose of driving qualitative education around the world.

Skoool.com, he cited for instance, provides interactive digital lessons in mathematics, chemistry, physics and English language to name a few and would offer children the opportunity to learn difficult topics in those subjects at their own pace.

Akingbade emphasized that the bundle is also preloaded with Encyclopedia Britannica, the world’s most trusted source of information on every topic imaginable; from science to history of the world, and so much more.

“There is also the Zinox Card, an application centre for students, teachers and parents, which provides resources to upgrade learning skills and close gaps in knowledge. The Zinox card provides practice tools, 500,000 e-books library, classic literature e-book, audio books, and parental e-books, among others” said Akingbade.
