MNet names Osakioduwa host of BBA-4

The Digital Satellite Television (DSTv) channel, M-Net has named Nigerian Ik Osakioduwa the host of its latest reality show, the Big Brother Africa (BBA-4) reports CHARLES OKOH.

M-Net in a press statement made available to Champion Infotel, weekend, said that BBA-4 due to take off next Sunday, September 6, would be hosted by a talented Nigerian television star IK Osakioduwa.

An Economics graduate from the University of Lagos (UNILAG), IK as he is fondly called, began his broadcast career as ‘Wild Child’ on Nigerian radio station Rhythm FM 93.7, from where he moved into television.

A presenter on M-Net’s flagship Afro-chic lifestyle programme Studio 53, Ik has also helmed two other M-Net productions - the Nigerian game show Temptation Nigeria and the stand-out stand-up series Comedy Club: Live in Lagos.

“I’m not sure what it is about the show but it’s almost addictive. I hate to confess it but, I remember days when I stayed up watching people in the house sleep,” he said.

IK also called on audiences to share his passion for the series saying: “I’ve been speaking with some people involved with the production and I think it’s safe to say that a lot of thought has been put into improving everything that has been done before. We see a reflection of that in the increased prize money. I also think there will probably even be more drama in this edition too because the stakes are higher.
Not to mention that there are more countries.”

To the housemates, he advised them to be cautious because people would be watching critically from across the continent.

“I think being fake would work against you. Keep it real and hope for the best. Also as much as we are all watching you, try to have some fun with it!” he said, just as the show will also feature up and coming African sensation K’Naan.

The Somali born, Canadian based musician, K’Naan, has won global attention for fusing hip hop, rap and reggae with poetic insight and a keen sense of timing. It’s no wonder then that his breakout album The Dusty Foot Philosopher has become an international hit.
