Teledom Group takes IP solutions to CTO-07

Internet Protocol (IP) solution provider, Teledom Group, has said it would be introducing some new innovative at the forthcoming Computer, Telecommunications and Office Equipment (CTO) 2007 exhibitions.

Executive Vice Chairman of the group, Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem, said that the new products to be introduced at the expo, cuts across flat screens, Education Management Information Software (EMIS), Video Conference Equipment (VCE) to IP motivated Internet-based security network systems.

In addition, he said, that IP telephony which allows users to carry voice and data traffic on the via Local Area Network (LAN) as well as IP radio and television tools.

“Our IP radio cum TV apparati is intended to expand the frontiers for radio and television broadcast beyond the traditional signal areas,” he said.

Teledom International, he said, has been involved on diffusion of broadband Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure and is geared towards delivering multi-service solutions in the nation’s burgeoning ICT market place.

Equally, Dr. Ekuwem said that Teledom International Group participation in this year’s event is in fulfillment of its mission state, which is “to automate every socio-economic process using Broadband ICT infrastructure and multimedia facilities with appropriate content solutions to boost national economic productivity and prosperity.”

As said by him, these products are designed to provide solutions to ICT problems experienced in schools, homes, offices, and hotels to name a few.

Dr. Ekuwem, who is a former president of the Nigeria Internet Group (NIG), said that the IP-based Security Network Operating Systems (SNOS) is a unique aspect that provides an integrated access control and surveillance facilities.

“It is unique because large organistions with remote branches can monitor their branches from the headquarters and vice-versa real time,” he said, stressing that banks, security institutions such as the Police, Customs, Prisons, Military, schools, and oil entities would find this product very useful for their security needs.

“The IP telephony allows users to carry voice and data traffic on the same Local Area Network (LAN) and can be incorporated into an already existing LAN,” he asserted, meaning that once an organisation has an Ethernet network to carry its data traffic, that same network could be used for the organisation’s voice traffic, that is intercom.

He further said that this reduces infrastructural cost, while enhancing productivity, emphasizing that it reduces complexity of the network, simplifies network management and enhances flexibility and reliability.

Dr. Ekuwem pointed out that an enterprise Wide Area Network (WAN) voice network could equally be created by organisations with branches and calls within the WAN would be free of charge.

“This is good news for organisations that spend huge sums of money just to provide a separate network for their voice traffic,” he said.
