Anambra indigenes in U.S. back Obi

Anambra indigenes resident in the United States (US) have pledged their support to the government of Gov Peter Obi of Anambra State hailing the subsidiary for restoring justice in the state.

Reacting formally to the Appeal court ruling which declared Obi as the winner of the 2003 Anambra governorship election, the people under the aegis of Anambra State Association (ASA US) charged the people of the state to work with the new administration.

“We wish him the best”, the group said adding “we pray that his tenure shall be fruitful and successful”.

Stating that Obi and the association had always enjoyed robust relationship, ASA-US recalled that when it organized national convention in Los Angles, California in November 22, for political debate, the governor was on hand and contributed meaningfully to its success.

They congratulated the new governor, Mr. Obi advising him to see the opportunity for serving, Anambra State to ensure that Anambrarians feel the impact of democracy by meeting the expectations of the people of the state.

The US-based group also enjoined the Anambra State House of Assembly to work with Obi and provide all proper and necessary support to the new governor as they did with Dr. Ngige, to the end that the progress made so fair in the state would continue unabated and undisturbed for the good of the good people of Anambra.

We urge the good people of the Anambra State to also support, cooperate with and assist the new governor in ensuring peace, progress, love and unity among all people in state,” ASA-US advised.
