The controversial 2023 presidential election has seen the two major opposition parties, namely the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) heading to the court; both claiming their parties won based on the evidences before them through party agents aside other irregularities across the nation.
But APC which promised Nigerians change and indeed brought untold change to the fore has now embarked on shopping for legitimacy especially in the United States of America (USA).

The delegation of the Federal Government led by the Information and Culture Minister, Alhaji Lai Mohammed,
ITREALMS gathered, is currently in USA as at the time of filing this report for a purported lobbying exercise of the international media and international policy lobbyists groups, to seek legitimacy for the APC candidates.

ITREALMS also gathered from a US-based source that Lai Mohammed as at Tuesday afternoon met with the “Washington Post, Voice of America, Associated Press and Foreign Policy Magazine," to name a few in effort to lobby US government "to recognise the presidential result as announced by the so-called Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)."

According to our source, Lai Mohammed who was in the company of the Nigerian Ambassador to US, Dr. Uzoma Emenike also met with some Senior Fellows at Hudson Institute, including Melvin Foote, the Founding President, Constituency for Africa.

Melvin Foote,
ITREALMS gathered, is the Founder and President, Constituency for Africa based in Washington District of Columbia, United States, with claims to having worked in Africa and on African issues for over 40 years.

Also,
ITREALMS source, confirmed that Mohammed met some members of Atlantic Council and Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) as well as a host of others in efforts to lobby the US government to recognise the APC presidential candidate.

ITREALMS recalled that it was in one of the 'shopping spree' for legitimacy that FG accused the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, and his running mate, Yusuf Datti Ahmed of alleged incitement over the outcome of the 2023 Presidential elections through Minister Lai Mohammed.
