Alor:APC caretaker petitions Obiano, distances self from APA, says its 'social club' - ITREALMS

The Alor People's Convention (APC) caretaker Committee executives have petitioned the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano on behalf of the community, reports ITREALMS.

This came as they also distanced themselves from Alor Peoples Assembly (APA), describing it as a social club made up of impostors and political pirates.

In the petition to Gov. Obiano made available to ITREALMS, dated August 17, 2020 by Alor People's Convention and signed by its chairman, caretaker committee, Hon. Chris Okudo, said that any organization, club or association parading themselves as officials of the community is nothing but mere impostors, political pirates whose records is below mediocre.

He stated in part:

"On behalf of the community , we the Alor People's Convention (APC) caretaker Committee executives duly appointed by your administration wish to use this medium to inform the government that any organization, club or association parading themselves as officials of the community is nothing but mere impostors, political pirates whose records is below mediocre.

"APA though a social club with mere corporate existence has prior before the suspension of the 12 traditional rulers sponsored online propaganda against the government of His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano, there media unit has severally alleged that the governor is perpetually not willing to conduct local government elections so as to continue embezzling local government funds.

"In one of there media write ups , it was also credited to them, were they openly denigrated the Governor by allegedly tagging him an alcoholic whose actions should not be taken serious.

"Apart from the above mentioned character assassination of the governor credited to them, this club has failed to respect the authority of the State Government by parading themselves as officials of the town union and as well floating court orders.

"Their leader parading himself as the president general of the community was convicted in the United States Of America for drug related crimes and served a jail term of 12 years. Prior to establishing his social club, he once served as the president general of Alor People's Convention for 3 years and during his tenure he embezzled UBEC funds amounting to 24 million and further went to Otuocha high court to secure a court injunction just to escape probing of his tenure by the successive government of the town.

"Recently, he sponsored a counter announcement to the tax and revenue collection mandated by the State government to all communities, he also sponsored a counter announcement in the community were they told members of the community not to pay the N1,500 burial levy mandated by the state government to all communities therefore making it difficult for the town union to pay returns to the state government .

Also he went further to invade the Nkwo Alor market by erecting stalls which is still in progress without securing approval from both the government recognized town Executives and the local government transitional chairman before venturing into the project.

The members of the community has been lamenting bitterly of their actions, they have severally intimidated the town criers in the community by sanctioning them if they are seen working for the state government appointed town union executives also claiming that they have the federal government backing to carry out their operations.

Further more they mandated every adult male in the community to pay 20,000 non refundable fee into their account as tax returns.

This bandwagons of uncivilized individuals went further to exploit the community by illegally collecting EDDC bills from the community at a very exorbitant rates.

They also succeeded in decentralizing the Anambra State vigilante services in the community by creating their own security outfit , If not for the calmness of the King the community could have turned into a war zone.

"Aside the above crimes committed by themselves , they also have failed to recognize the traditional ruler presented by the community to the government, they further went on newspapers to claim that the certificate of recognition given to the traditional ruler by your administration is nothing but mirage and all of sudden they saw the suspension as a means to curry the symapathy of the governor in other to continue ripping off the community apart.

"It is with this letter that we wish to thank the governor for his magnanimous contributions to Alor and also implore him to extend the wield stick to the agents of destabilization under the guise of Alor People's Assembly ( APA).

"To this effect we also congratulate the governor for the giant stride achievements his administration has recorded especially in the area of security, infrastructure, agriculture and the recent aggressive fight against Covid-19 virus which you added colour by distribution of palliatives to the 177 communities in Anambra State.

"On behalf of the community we are passing a vote of confidence to your administration and further more we wish to reiterate our unalloyed, unreserved loyalty and support to your willingly working administration," he concluded.
