FinancialTechnology.com gets MMA nomination

Africa’s leading online resource for mobile financial inclusion, Mobile Money Africa (MMA), has named the www.financialtechnologyafrica.com, the online edition of Lagos-based Financial Technology magazine, as the best supporting media for mobile financial inclusion in West Africa.

This was disclosed in Lagos, by the principal consultant at MMA, Mr. Emmanuel Okoegwale, said the awards ceremony slated for next month in Lagos would climax the selection process, precisely on December 15.

According to him, www.financialtechnologyafrica.com is the premier, proudly African financial technology online news portal developed and managed by professionals in the industry.

He described FT outputs as original and exclusive content on mobile telecommunications technology, card technology, banking technology, insurance-technology and capital market technology written by reporters who are on top of their trade, are uploaded on a daily basis.

Over 2,008,344 hits were recorded on the news portal from 41 countries and 4 continents in the first six month in 2010.

Financialtechnology magazine is the hard copy edition of www.financialtechnologyafrica.com. It is a bi-monthly magazine, which parades cutting-edge analysis, views and news.

Reacting to the development, the chief operating officer, FT, Mr. Razack Olaegbe, said that they are in the market to give readers and advertisers real value for money, because influential industry CEOs and respected financial technology practitioners write for the magazine as columnists.

“Since its debut, financial technology has consistently delivered a premium quality magazine to the financial services industry across Africa and beyond,” he said.

At present, he said that with over 10,000 print-run, financialtechnology magazine is currently circulated in 14 English speaking African countries, namely Nigeria, Egypt, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Gambia, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.
