The Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA) has announced that its 3rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) will hold on Thursday, August 26, 2010, at Oshun Hall, Lagos Airport Hotel, Obafemi Awolowo Way, Ikeja, Lagos, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
According to a statement signed by Ugo Akiri on behalf of the NiRA Secretariat, the AGM will provide members the opportunity to review the Association’s performance and financial standing for the years ended May 31, 2009, and May 31, 2010.
The statement indicated that the meeting’s agenda includes receiving the Annual Reports and Financial Statements for the period under review, as well as considering the Business Plan and Budget for the current financial year beginning June 1, 2010.
It further noted that members will also deliberate on other matters properly brought before the meeting and undertake a special business session to elect members of the Board of Directors of the Association.
NiRA encouraged all members and stakeholders in the Nigerian internet community to participate actively in the AGM, emphasizing that the meeting remains a vital platform for promoting transparency, accountability, and the growth of Nigeria’s country code top-level domain, .ng.
