Vmobile unveils N200 recharge cards

Remmy Nweke

Still in the euphoria of its recent deal with CelTel, Vmobile Nigeria has introduced N200 recharge cards to give its numerous subscribers another flexible, cost effective and more convenient airtime recharge option, according to the Public Relations Manager, Mr. Emeka Oparah.

He said the new recharge cards have been available in dealers’ locations, select supermarkets, and other outlets throughout Nigeria since July 5, 2006.

Mr. Oparah also said that the physical recharge cards would complement the N200 Virtual Recharge (Vcharge) or Virtual Top Up introduced last December by the telco to make it possible for its pre-paid customers to recharge their phones inexpensively.

“The company will continue to make the N200 physical recharge cards more extensively available in sales outlets across the country”, pledged the company’s image maker, stressing that the N200 airtime would sell at its face value and would offer three days airtime validity to users,” he said.

He further explained that Vmobile would continue to offer N500, N1000, N2000, N5000 and N20,000 physical recharge cards: and N100, N200, N300, N400 N500 N1000, N2000, N3000, N5000, and N20,000 virtual airtime vouchers (Vcharge)

Vmobile Nigeria is part of the CelTel Group, the leading pan-African mobile telecommunications operator which operates in 15 countries, more than any other network and whose licenses that cover almost half of the population of Africa. Vmobile is a telecommunications company providing GSM services in Nigeria. Incorporated in 2000, the company on August 5, 2001 became the first GSM company to launch its services in Nigeria.

Currently Vmobile has over 5.6 million active subscribers with coverage in about 600 towns and 8,000 communities across the six geopolitical zones of the country.
