CANi justifies CNP vision – Agbakoba

Remmy Nweke

Zinox Technologies initiative to establish the Computerize Nigeria Project (CNP), has been vindicated by the Computer for All Nigerians Initiative (CANi), according to the Head, CPN Project, Mrs. Loretta Agbakoba.

She made this assertion while speaking to newsmen and described as a welcome development the fact that, five years after, CANi was replicating the vision and modus operandi of the CNP.

Mrs. Agbakoba observed that the launch of CANi underscores the need for enhanced awareness and action towards the acquisition of computers and Information Technology (IT) skills.

She also said that CANi was a clarion call to mobilize all tiers of leadership in the country towards the complete adoption of IT, “because no nation can lay claims to growth without IT.”

Mrs. Agbakoba expressed optimism that the implementation of the project would compliment CPN’s objectives rather than undermining it.

She also expressed confidence in the key actors of the project namely – PC manufacturers, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), and the banks.

Mrs. Agbakoba assured that Computerize Nigeria Project would seize the opportunity of CANi to consolidate its position as Nigeria’s foremost NGO in the provision of computers to homes, schools, and work places.

Pointing out that CNP has already developed more creative ways of passing discounts, subsidies, and other benefits to the end user to make computer ownership gainful and enduring.

She explained that as part of the CANi team, CNP would continue to offer very high quality systems backed by the unparalleled Zinox No-Story-Warranty.

CNP boss further urged Nigerians to take advantage of CANi to become active participants in the global IT revolution.
