Lagos set for Mobile Web 2012



The Mobile Web West Africa 2012 is now set to take place at the Lagos Oriental Hotel.

Confirming this the managing director of the United Kingdom-based All Amber, Mr. Matthew Dawes, said the event tend to deliver interactive, discussion-based specific aimed at high level strategists.

According to him, the MWWA 2012 features the top industry speakers including Blackberry, Spinlet, MXit and inMobi to name a few.

He noted that recently Nigeria has overtaken South Africa as the largest mobile market with over 90 million subscribers.

Stressing that mobile penetration in Nigeria is predicted to hit 82 per cent by 2015.

“Mobile internet browsing is now larger than desktop browsing in Nigeria with 54 per cent of all internet content being accessed from mobiles,” he said.

The aforementioned, he said, has shown that the imperative of mobile web, applications and content in West Africa is undisputed and the crucial discussions at Mobile Web West Africa.

Thus, crucial for discussions around the mobile web, which has the potential in the development of the mobile ecosystem.
 
“That’s why developing a thriving industry and supporting the growth of the developer ecosystem, which are the foundations behind the idea of Mobile Web West Africa is so essential,” he declared.
