Certain recommendations, ITREALMS gathered from the second organizational review of the Nominating Committee (NomCom2 Review) require amendments to the ICANN Bylaws and the creation of a NomCom Standing Committee.

The ICANN Board had grouped the amendments with a proposed Standing Committee Charter and a proposed statement defining "Unaffiliated" Directors for efficiency and the ease of community understanding.

Highlights, ITREALMS additionally gathered is that submissions opened on Monday, 17 April 2023 and would close by Monday, 29 May 2023.

ITREALMS recalls that ICANN's mission is to help ensure a stable, secure, and unified global Internet. To reach another person on the Internet, you need to type an address – a name or a number – into your computer or other device. That address must be unique so computers know where to find each other.

Thus, ICANN helps to coordinate and support these unique identifiers across the world. ICANN was formed in 1998 as a nonprofit public benefit corporation with a community of participants from all over the world.
